Intern On A Wildlife Ranch in South Africa

Students looking for an impactful and unique internship to gain first-hand experience and knowledge about wildlife can look to the wildlife ranch in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, South Africa. The ranch is home to over 90 different species, including many endangered animals. Interns on the ranch will be working alongside trained professionals in wildlife care, research and maintenance. For those interested in veterinary science, zoology or animal care in general, this internship provides the opportunity to make a strong and lasting impact, learn new skills and experience a new culture at the same time. GoEco has a strict ethical code for its wildlife preservation programs. No animal is exploited or harmed for any purpose within their programs, so interns can be confident that they are doing good for the animals they work with every day.

This project can last anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks, but to get the most out of the experience, GoEco recommends spending at least six weeks on site. The first two weeks of an intern’s stay will cost $1,550. All additional time added will cost a similar amount with a slight discount. Included in that price are accommodations, all three meals on workdays and travel guidance from experienced professionals. Interns can tailor their experience to fit their specific interests and their university’s requirements. Interns will work Monday through Friday and will have the weekends to relax and explore South Africa.
