Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, is home to the famous mountain gorilla, a subspecies of the eastern gorilla only found in East and Central Africa. The mountain gorilla is the most threatened race to extinction and the only gorilla species found in Uganda. Uganda has over half the world’s mountain population, mainly in the Virunga Mountains in Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. They tend to live in high altitudes and bamboo forests. Travelers will be picked up from Entebbe International Airport and be driven to Fort Portal. They will hike to Amabere (or Nyakasura) Caves and Falls from there. At Kibale Forest, everyone can see Chimpanzees and 12 other species of primates in action. Onward to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famed for its scenery and varied wildlife. This includes leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, zebras, cheetahs, and more. Bwindi is the main event; everyone can find and observe a gorilla troop through a guided hike. Everyone will have an hour to see them groom themselves, eat fruit, shoots, and leaves, and perhaps see their offspring in play. The fun continues at Lake Mburo National Park, home to various species that include elands, buffalos, hyenas, baboons, reedbucks, and more. Arrive in the capital of Kampala on the final day. Depart at any time.
